A weaker ringgit against the greenback has not dampened Malaysians from visiting or studying in the United States, according to US embassy deputy chief of mission, Edgard Kagan.
He noted that nearly 82,000 Malaysians visited the country in 2015, and the figure had grown more than 70 percent over the past 10 years.
"As more and more Malaysians discover the culture, landscape and hospitality of the United States, we're confident that the number of Malaysian tourists to the United States will continue to grow," he said.
He was speaking at a press conference here today on US participation in the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair 2016 for the second time.
Hawaii will be among the destinations to be showcased at the Sept 2-4 show at the Putra World Trade Centre.
