BN has to be as popular as Najib for big win - Kadir Jasin

To ensure a strong mandate for Barisan Nasional (BN), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has to ensure that the party that he reigns is as popular as him.

National Journalism Laureate, Datuk A. Kadir Jasin said this is because in our country’s system, people are not electing a president but they are electing a government.

Kadir said Najib’s popularity is undeniable.

“A lot of people told me that Najib is popular. People told me that whenever he goes for walkabout, a lot of people attended his functions. A lot of people come to listen to him.

“He also has one of the largest followers on Twitter. He has many friends in his Facebook and he has his blog.

“It is good that the leader of a party is popular and strong. But he must also be sure that his party is popular too.

So the question is whether both the PM and his party are popular?” he said during an interview with Astro Awani.
