The new faces introduced by DAP shows the party is in for a real transformation.

“New faces means there are new blood, new vision and new arena,” said DAP candidate for the Kota Alam Shah DUN seat Ganabatirau Veraman.

He is replacing incumbent Manoharan Malayalam who won the seat with 7,184-vote majority over his rival.

“He is a good friend of mine,” said Ganabatirau. “I have nothing much to say. I did a lot of ground work and it’s hard for anybody to reject my candidacy. We need to put the party interest first before individual interests.

"My immediate reaction [after being nominated] is that there is a high responsibility on my head. I have to deliver my best based on the expectation given by the party.”

Meanwhile, Manoharan did not want to provide any comment on being dropped from his constituency.

When asked about the new faces, he said: “I don’t know them. They are very new. I’ve been with the party for 20 years.”

Among the new faces who will be competing with the DAP ticket in Selangor are:

Teratai: Tiew Way Keng (incumbent: Jenice Lee)
Damansara Utama: Yeo Bee Yin (incumbent: Dr. Cheah Wing Yin)
Balakong: Ng Tien Chee (incumbent: Yap Lum Chin)
Teluk Datuk: Loh Chee Heng (incumbent: Philip Tan)
Bukit Gasing: Rajiv Rishyakaran (incumbent: Ronnie Liu)
Teluk Datuk: Loh Chee Heng (incumbent: Phillip Tan Choon Swee)

Meanwhile in KUALA LUMPUR, no major changes were made for the parliamentary seats. Teresa Kok who has been dropped for the Kinrara DUN seat and being replaced by Ng Sze Han will still defend her Seputeh parliamentary seat.

Cheras: Tan Kok Wai
Bukit Bintang: Fong Kui Lun

MCA Selangor Youth Deputy Chairman Dr Ching Eu Boon said that DAP is not being responsible to their voters as they transfer their “controversial members” to another constituency.

“If allegations that Selangor exco Ronnie Liu moving to contest the parliament seat of Cameron Highlands are correct, then I wonder if the reason for this is because of his various scandals during his time as an Exco,” said Dr Ching.
