Election can be held anytime not necessarily during school holidays

The 13th General Election need not necessarily be held during school holidays that falls at the end of next month, Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said.

Tengku Adnan said though there has been speculation that the election would be held during school holidays, just like in the past, there are other factors that may influence the decision.

"It is not a must but Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak may have his own specific reasons," he told reporters after opening Putrajaya parliamentary constituency's family day.

Tengku Adnan said the screening of BN candidates by the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission, Police and Insolvency Department was almost complete.
