Following the explosion near the Barisan Nasional elections operation rooms Tuesday night in Nibong Tebal.
Police confirmed it stems from a substance known as the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) .
According to the Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi, they also discovered another explosive device in the same area.
But it is was successfully detonated by the police bomb disposal unit about 3 am Wednesday.
He believed that the act was done by professionals, who know about the ins and outs of using the explosives.
Abdul Rahim did not deny that it could be some irresponsible people’s act who wants to scare people.
He also said that the police will find whoever responsible for the explosive.
