Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has urged the people to evaluate his track record as a staunch Umno member for 37 years during which he remained loyal to the leader and never stabbed anyone in the back.
Outlining the Barisan Nasional's (BN) campaign for the 13th general election, the prime minister said he started from below and climbed the ladder one step at a time before reaching the pinnacle of his political career.
"I have been in the government for a long time... from spotting thick black hair to what it is today. I moved up one step at a time. And I have never stabbed anyone from behind.
"This is because one of the principles in the struggle is loyalty to the leader. I have served three prime ministers and I have been loyal to the three then prime ministers," he said.
Najib, who is also BN chairman, was speaking at the gathering of the 1Malaysia pledge "People First" in conjunction with the launch of the BN 2013 manifesto at the Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil, tonight.
