Muhyiddin gives "F" grade to Kelantan Govt

"I'm giving them "F" Grade for their performance report card for their inability to resolve the people's problems.

"It's very saddening. After 23 years governing Kelantan, PAS has miserably failed to bring any development to the state.

"As the Education Minister, I checked Kelantan's report card. I'm giving Grade "F", which means they have failed miserably. Therefore, they cannot continue to helm the state.

"They have failed to honour many of their promises and they have not solved many of the epople's problems," he said when addressing 20,000 people at the 1Malaysia People's Gathering with DPM" at Sekolah Kebangsaan Gemang, Ayer Lanas, here.

Muhyiddin urged the people to evaluate PAS' deliverance performance in three important sectors -- infrastructure development, ability to create economic activities and promote sanctity of Islam in Kelantan.

Also present were Muhyiddin's wife, Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, who is also BN's candidate for the Jeli parliamentary seat and Ayer Lanas state seat.

Muhyiddin said much of the infrastructure development in Kelantan was implemented by the BN government which did not want the state to lag behind than other states under the federal government's mission to attain high-income nation status by 2020.

"Village roads, basic amenities, water supply and infrastructures that ought to be developed have not been implemented, but PAS still harbours ambition to build a highway between Kota Baharu and Kuala Krai," he said.

The deputy prime minister said the state government had also failed to create job opportunities to stimulate the economy and fulfil aspirations of the people who want to work in the state to increase their income.

He said PAS had also failed to promote the sanctity of Islam, religious programmes and activities and uphold Kelantan's image as the "corridor of Mecca" as claimed by the party.

He said PAS should pursue its struggle to establish an Islamic state but the matter was not even stated in its manifesto.

"When PAS joined the opposition pact, they should have pursued their vision to create an Islamic state and enforced hudud law (Islamic Penal Code), but they sacrificed what they have been pursuing all this while for political reason," he said.

Following PAS' failure to administer the state efficiently, the people have started to shift their attention to BN government, which gives priority to the people's wants.

"Since the past two years, the red wave, the symbol of BN's leadership, reverberated in Kelantan, it has started to gain attention among the people, who want to see changes in the state.
