Mukhriz will be MB if BN wins in Kedah - Najib

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Datuk Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir will be appointed Menteri Besar of Kedah if the Barisan Nasional (BN) is given the mandate to form the state government in tomorrow's general election.

Najib, who is also BN chairman, said Mukhriz, the BN's candidate for the Ayer Hitam state seat, had the capability to administer Kedah in line with the government's aspiration to make a success of national transformation plans.

"I am confident he will provide dynamic leadership to take Kedah to new heights," he said in a statement here tonight.

Mukhriz, who is also Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister and Kedah BN deputy chairman, is facing the incumbent, Abdul Ghani Ahmad of PAS.
