Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has rubbished the recent survey by Universiti Malaya's Democratic and Election Centre (Umcedel), saying he is upbeat that Barisan Nasional (BN) is on track to win the 13th General Election (GE13).

He said he disagreed with the Umcedel study which showed that he was four points behind Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on who qualified to be prime minister.

Najib said this when commenting on the survey involving 1,407 respondents residing in Peninsular Malaysia early this month.

The survey indicated that 43 per cent of the respondents believed Anwar was qualified to be prime minister, while 39 per cent believed Najib was qualified to be prime minister.

"I do not agree with the polls (by Umcedel). We have our own polls. My polls indicate that we (Barisan Nasional) are ahead.

"I am confident that we can win in the GE13," he told reporters after meeting with Kampung Baru Sungai Terentang residents here today.
