The police received 193 applications up to yesterday to carry out activities related to the 13th General Election all over the country, said assistant head of the Inspector-General of Police Secretariat (Public Relations) ACP Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf.
He said these activities comprised 66 public 'ceramah' (talks), 55 political party meetings, 11 campaigns and 61 other election events.

At a news conference on the general election at the Bukit Aman police headquarters here, he reminded young people not to do anything unlawful, such as tearing down party flags, burning posters, injuring people and using firearms, during the campaign for the general election.
"Offenders will not get any exemption from the law," he said.
Meanwhile in Shah Alam, the Selangor police have received 25 reports relating to the 13th general election (GE13) between Saturday and yesterday, said the Head of the Management Department of the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters, SAC Hasanuddin Hassan.
He said that of the total, investigation papers had been opened for nine cases involving, among others, burning, destroying and bringing down political party flags.
Police also detained a 42-year-old local man on suspicion of burning a political party flag at Section 17, Shah Alam, on Sunday and the case was being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code for arson.
"We take a serious view on such cases as it can lead to quarrels between party supporters," he said at a press conference at the Selangor Police Media Centre, here today.
Hasanuddin, who was also appointed as the election spokesman for the Selangor Police Media Centre, said 32 ceramah had been held by various political parties in Selangor between April 6 and yesterday.
