Young Croatian cellists duo Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, known as 2CELLOS, who rocked the international music world by taking the cello to a whole new level, will be performing in Singapore this May 22.

This is their only concert in South East Asia during their tour and their second time in Singapore after performing there in November 2011.

2CELLOS will also be touring Japan in March, Australia and South Korea in May. Their tickets for the 11 concerts in Japan have already sold out.

Sulic and Hauser broke into the scene in 2011 after their video of Michael Jackson’s ‘Smooth Criminal’ cover went viral on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

The video attracted the attention of record company Sony Masterworks who signed the duo on their record label. They then were invited by Elton John to join his entourage of musicians.

Their cover of 'Smooth Criminal' was then recorded on their album which launched in July 2011. The album also featured other great cover songs from bands such as U2, Sting, Nirvana, Coldplay, Muse and Guns N’ Roses.

2CELLOS’ album managed to reach the top on the US Billboard in the classical albums category and received praise from critics.

Meanwhile, their second album entitled In2ition released in January 2013, featured singers such as Elton John, Steve Vai and Lang Lang.

The talented cellists are not only skilled at playing classical compositions such as Sebastian Bach but can also play rock songs by AC/DC.
