Actor-comedian Harun Salim Bachik laid to rest

Today, Malaysian showbiz mourns the passing of popular actor and comedian Harun Salim Bachik, 56 who died after he reportedly suffered breathing difficulties at the North-South Highway's Gunung Semanggol (Southbound) R&R in Perak, Sunday.
Family, friends and compatriots paid their last respects who was laid to rest at the Taman Raudhatul Sakinah Muslim cemetery near Batu Caves, here at approximately 11.20am, today.
Present at the cemetery are his wife and children including his son, Ikram Al Rashid.
Among celebrity friends who were present to pay their final respects included film director-actor, Afdlin Shauki, producer-actor Hans Isaac, comedian-singer, Imuda and SENIMAN President, Zed Zaidi.
Many of them who were met by reporters after the final rites, spoke fondly of the man known for his easygoing personality.
Harun, a former SENIMAN President was reportedly on his way home from Pulau Pinang with his family.
Harun, whose full name Haron Aminar Rashid Salim was synonymous for his appearance in TV serial, Rumah Kedai aired over TV3 in the early 90s.
Harun was also featured in a series of films including Man Laksa, Baik Punya Cilok, Apa Kata Hati, KIL and Lelaki Harapan Dunia.
He was also synonymous for his portrayal in Oh My English the popular sitcom aired on Astro CERIA.
The multi-faceted Harun has released an album titled, Belilah released in 1996 which solidified his status as a singer in the Malaysian music scene. The album spawned a monster hit, Banjir which became an instant hit after the album was released.
Harun is the son of 1950s actor, Salim Bachik.
