Composer Hamdan Atan or better known as A.Ali was named the recipient of the Nadi Cipta award at the Music Author's Copyright Protection (MACP) Awards 2016 held here last night.
The selection of A.Ali, who has composed several evergreen songs such as 'Sangkar Emas' and 'Mengemis Rindu', was made by members of the Board of Directors of MACP to honour his contributions to the music industry.
At the same event, singer and songwriter of 'Cinta Muka Buku', Najwa Latif was announced the Potential Young Composer award recipient.
Composer Edry KRU recieved the Composer with the Highest Income award and lyricist Habsah Hassan, who is also MACP chairman, was named the Lyricist with the Highest Income award recipient.
Universal Music Publishing Sdn Bhd was announced the Producer with the Highest Income award, while Luncai Emas Sdn Bhd was named the Local Producer with the Highest Income award recipient.
The MACP Awards 2016 Night was attended by Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism deputy secretary-general Datuk Basaruddin Sadali, who represented Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin
