Legendary Indian music composer A.R. Rahman is set to entertain his ardent Malaysian fans in Kuala Lumpur at a live concert to be held in April, after more than a decade.
The double Grammy winner, who has an extraordinary fan base in Malaysia, will perform at Stadium Merdeka on Apr 26.
"I haven't performed in Malaysia for quite a while now. I remember my last experience in Kuala Lumpur fondly way back in 2003 for the Unity of Light concert and I'm very excited to perform my latest repertoire of songs for all my fans here," he told a press conference at a hotel here, Wednesday.
The maestro said the three-hour concert will dazzle his fans with a medley of his popular songs from Hindi and Tamil films including from the soon to be released Tamil 3D film, Kochadaiyaan.
The concert, titled Infinite Love, is organised by Indian entertainment company DML Live and supported by Malaysia Major Events, which is under the Tourism and Culture Ministry.
Noted playback singers such as Mohit Chauhan, Javed Ali, Mano, Chitra and Vijay Prakash will be joining Rahman on stage. Rahman had previously performed in Kuala Lumpur in Oct 1996 and Dec 2003.
Tickets for the concert starting from RM98 can be purchased from 3 pm onwards this Friday through www.dmllive.com.
There will also be an early bird discount of up to 15 percent.
