Astro bags the Putra Brand Award for the fifth time

Leading broadcaster, Astro, has been awarded ‘Best Brand’ under the media and entertainment category at the Putra Brand Awards 2014.
This is the fifth win for Astro, while Hitz.fm which is under Astro Radio successfully bagged the Bronze award in the same category.
Astro Malaysia’s Chief Commercial Officer, Liew Swee Lin, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
“Astro is always committed in broadcasting the best content, whether local or international. We are now even more committed in bringing better technology to improve the quality and experience of viewers at home,” she said.
As for Hitz.fm, winning for the first time is a sign that they have a loyal following that choose to tune in and listen to their station
“Our commitment at Astro Radio has never faded and that is to give the best to our listeners and to change according to their beat and flavour. We will always give our best regardless of winning the award or not,” said Raqeem Brian, the radio station’s content manager.
The Putra Brand Awards, first introduced in 2010, has seen Astro bringing home the top prize for the media and entertainment category every year since.
It recognises the most popular brands in the industry and the winners are chosen through random research of 6,000 local user respondents.
Other winners include Nike, 100 plus, Toyota, Maxis, Taylor’s University College, Gardenia and McDonald’s.
