Awie has also obtained an injunction order which restraint Rozana from coming into contact with him and the children, be it through the print or electronic media.
Rock singer Awie, whose real name is Ahmad Azhar Othman, has obtained a Syariah High Court order for temporary custody of his three children with estranged wife, Rozana Misbun.
However, Rozana was given visitation right where she is allowed to visit the children twice a month, which is on the first and third week of the month, for two hours on each visit, to be held at the house where Awie and the children are staying.
Awie's syariah lawyer, Datuk Mohd Zaidi Mohd Zain, told this to reporters after the proceeding today, which was held in chambers before Syariah High Court judge Nassir Abdul Aziz.
He said Awie also obtained an injunction order which restraint Rozana from coming into contact with him and the children, be it through the print or electronic media.
Awie, 46, had filed the application for the injunction order and temporary child custody last July 16 under Section 200 and 201 of the Syariah Court Civil Procedure (Federal Territories) Act 1988.
Mohd Zaidi said the court also set Aug 6 for the "Sulh" (mediation) session between Awie and Rozana to resolve the matter on the child custody.
The rock singer and Rozana tied their marriage knot in Songhkla, Thailand, on June 20, 2005. They have three children, sons Putra Ahmad Merrah, 7, and Putra Ahmad Rezzki, 6, and a daughter, Puteri Qasseh Antasha, 4.
On July 4 this year, Awie, the main actor in the films, 'Zombie Kampung Pisang' and 'Hantu Kak Limah', was charged with voluntarily causing grievous hurt on Rozana at a house in Taman Ukay Bistari.
