Mark Wahlberg is to star in "Patriot's Day," a film about the Boston Marathon, as the city's police commissioner Ed Davis.
Davis was integral in co-ordinating a manhunt for the Tsarnaev brothers, which took place over five days following a set of explosions near the 2013 marathon's finish line.
The CBS Films project is the second of two films about the event, the first being 20th Century Fox's "Boston Strong" which has Daniel Espinosa of "Safe House" and the upcoming "Child 44" as its director.
Wahlberg will also co-produce for CBS, having started his ongoing career as a producer with "We Own The Night" in 2007, having since been credited on "Boardwalk Empire," "In Treatment" and "Entourage."
