United States president Barack Obama posted a picture of him hugging his wife Michelle Obama after a victorious re-election, on his social media sites and the picture went down in history as the most retweeted picture.
Two years later, Ellen DeGeneres repeated the feat, only with bigger number of retweets, thus breaking the record that Obama held previously.
The Oscars 2014 host, who went on a selfie-frenzy at the star-studded event, got into a picture with fellow celebrities Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jared Leto, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Lupita Nyong'o, Kevin Spacey, Channing Tatum, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep and others.
At press time, the cheery picture with the caption, "If only Bradley's arm was longer. Best photo ever. #oscars", was closing in to half a million retweets, beating Obama's close to 800,000 retweets.
The impressive figures were recorded in less than an hour that the picture was posted on Twitter, with the social media site reportedly crashing for a brief minute due to the traffic that the sole picture brought.
