Long-time friends of Farid Kamil are happy that the popular actor and director has chosen young actress Diana Danielle as his wife.
“They’re meant for each other and this solemnisation ceremony reflects their simplicity. I’ve known Farid for some time and he is a very simple person,” said actor Iqram Dinzly.
Iqram is Farid’s junior at UiTM Shah Alam’s Faculty of Performing Arts and is a close friend of Diana.
When asked when he knew about Farid and Diana’s relationship, Iqram admitted that he does not like to interfere in the personal lives of others but Diana had told him about wanting to get married at a young age.
“Diana is still 21. I feel that she is still young but if she is ready then I’m all for it. We often have heart to heart talks and I can see her maturity from our conversations,” added Iqram.
Actor, director and singer Yana Samsudin has known Farid for more than 10 years when they were new to the entertainment industry as both were under the management of Metrowealth International Group (MIG).
“I’m so happy for Farid as I have always considered him as family. He has all the qualities to be the perfect husband for Diana," said Yana.
“I pray that they will overcome all of the new challenges they may face as husband and wife and for the marriage to last a lifetime."
MIG chief executive officer and popular film producer David Teo is happy to be a part of Farid and Diana’s special day.
“I’ve known Farid when he was a newcomer and now he has taken the next step by getting married and being a husband and soon, a father. This is definitely a progression in his life.
“My role in Farid’s life is more than a father figure because I will monitor his every move and step for the benefit of his career. That is now the responsibility of Diana. I no longer need to wake Farid up. His wife can remind him about work,” said Teo in jest.
Farid and Diana’s solemnisation ceremony took place at the Flamingo Hotel in Ampang. More than 300 family members, friends and the members of the Press attended the event. The couple's marriage was solemnised by Gombak Religious Administration Officer Daim Jajuli this morning (9.12am).
Five trays of hantaran (gifts) were presented by the groom. Diana's family, meanwhile, handed seven trays of gifts to Farid. The most interesting gift was a motorbike by the groom and a pocket bike by the bride.
Farid and Diana plan to visit Istanbul for their honeymoon before heading to Mecca. However, no dates have been set yet by the couple.
