The seventh installment in Universal's famous racing movie franchise will arrive in US theaters on April 3, 2015, one week earlier than previously announced. Following the news of the revised release date, we take a look at the latest news and rumors regarding the much-anticipated "Fast & Furious 7."

Initially due in theaters in July 2014, "Fast & Furious 7" was delayed due to the death of actor Paul Walker, and a new release date of April 10, 2015 was announced in late 2013. Now Universal has announced that the feature will arrive in theaters one week earlier.

In April 2014, the film's producers enlisted the help of the deceased star's brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker, to finish shooting a few scenes. In addition, Cody Walker plans to join the cast of "Fast and Furious 8" in a role of his own. The young actor will play the brother of Paul Walker's character, the undercover agent Brian O'Connor.

The Rock's last "Fast & Furious"?

Meanwhile, the rumor mill continues to turn regarding the plot of the long awaited movie. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson fueled speculation on his character's possible death by posting a photo from his last day on the set to Instagram. The caption "My last day of FAST & FURIOUS," combined with the fact that shooting on the production had yet to wrap up, have led several fans to wonder whether the next movie will be the last for his character, Hobbs.

Director James Wan fanned the flames by tweeting a photo of himself and the actor with the caption:
"Picture-wrap on @TheRock! One of the best peeps I've ever worked with. Laughter & professionalism! Let's do it again!"

In light of this, Dwayne Johnson's participation in the eighth "Fast & Furious" seems somewhat uncertain.
