Director J.J. Abrams has revealed the names for five principal characters in "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" through a series of images with a hidden meaning.
Presented as a partial series of trading cards, whose design harks back to the era of the first "Star Wars" trilogy, the eight images (revealed exlusively to EW) add an expanded, teasing context to the film's November 28 debut trailer.
John Boyega's Stormtropper is named Finn, while Daisey Ridley's speeder-riding character is called Rey, and the sphere-shaped droid BB-8.
Two other characters are given second names as well: Oscar Isaac plays X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron, while the dark cloaked light-saber wielder -- thought to be Adam Driver -- is known as Kylo Ren.
Remaining cards picture the Millennium Falcon, a row of blue-hued Stormtroopers, and a pair of low-flying X-Wings.
But there's more than meets the eye, with each card's border displayed in either red or blue, and each one numbered differently -- and there's a meaning to those numbers, Abrams told EW, even if he wouldn't say what it was just yet.
