Gerak Khas, the television police drama series will begin its new season on March 4.
The 26-episode drama series, produced by Skop Production, will be aired every Friday, at 9pm on TV2.
Skop Production managing director Datuk Yusof Haslam said the new season of more than 15-year-old drama series would feature new cast members including Fattah Amin and Raja Ilya.
"Six directors involved in the filming of this season, namely myself, Syamsul Yusof, Aziz M. Osman, Faizal Yusof, C. Kumaresan and Majed Salleh," he told a press conference after the launching of the Gerak Khas 2016 at Finas' P. Ramlee Mini Theatre, here, Thursday.
The event was launched by Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Jailani Johari. Also present was Finas chairman Datuk Mohd Khusairi Abdul Talib.
Meanwhile, Jailani in his speech said Gerak Khas had recorded history by becoming the only drama series that had been airing for more than a decade.
He said the ministry hoped that more recent issues brought by the new media could be highlighted in drama series like Gerak Khas.
"I call on all producers not to neglect your social responsibility towards the society. Give meaning to the effort we put in.
"Produce something that not only has commercial value, but has value to life and teaches the audience a valuable lesson," he said.
