Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has successfully undergone a brain surgery to remove a two-month-old clot at a hospital here, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.
Hrithik, 39, was performing stunts for his upcoming film 'Bang Bang' two months ago when he suffered an injury on his head.
He started developing pain and later went for a CT scan in May, when doctors discovered a clot in his brain.
Doctors said Hrithik was suffering from 'Subdural Hematoma' in the brain as a result of his head injury.
Dr VK Mishra said the two-hour surgery on the 'Krrish' star was successful.
"Hrithik is fully conscious and doing fine. He is currently under observation and will be discharged in two or three days time. Hrithik has been advised to take a 4-week bed rest after which he can resume shooting," Mishra said.
Hrithik's father, actor-director Rakesh Roshan, said the actor was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Khar in suburban Mumbai on Sunday morning.
"He (Hrithik) is doing fine now. He has been shifted to a room and will be discharged in two days," he said.
Hrithik's wife Sussanne was present at the hospital along with his parents throughout the surgery.
"Thank you for all your love and concern, Hrithik has come out of the surgery stronger than ever before. Gratitude and love to all of you for all your good wishes and prayers for him," Sussanne said in a statement.
Hrithik's much awaited super-hero film 'Krrish 3' will be released on Nov 4.
