A new film entitled 'I'm Not A Terrorist', which will hit the silver screen on Oct 5, sends a strong message to the world that Islam does not promote terrorism but is a peace-loving religion.
Its director, Arjin Upal said the movie, a production of White Merpati Entertainment, was filmed for 46 days in Kuala Lumpur and Kashmir, India at a cost of RM5.2 million.
"Despite rumours that Islam is violent, we want to 'wipe out' that image through this film," he told Bernama here Thursday.
Among the cast are Afiq Muiz, Chacha Maembong, Khir Mohd Nor, Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan as well as Bollywood actors such as Gulshan Grover, Rahul Dev and Farida Jalal.
According to Grover, this was the first time he played the role as a terrorist and worked on a film which combined casts from Malaysia and India.
"You really need to be a good actor to play the bad guy because your screen time is limited. You have to create that magic and create that fear. Hopefully, you can see all that when you watch this film," he said.
