KANYE West was reportedly hospitalized in Los Angeles on Monday.
NBC News, citing "multiple authorities familiar with the case," reported that the 39-year-old Grammy-winning musician remained under observation Monday afternoon at a hospital.
At 1:20 p.m., police responded to a medical welfare call. Though no criminal activity was involved, authorities decided to hospitalize West for his own health and safety.
The cause is unknown, though an unnamed source told People, "He is exhausted and currently dealing with sleep deprivation. He went to the hospital at will under the advice of his physician. He's fine."
Though TMZ reported that West was restrained when he brought to the hospital, People's source claimed that wasn't the case. "He went freely," the source said."
Earlier today, a representative for West confirmed to Pitchfork that the remaining dates of West's Saint Pablo national tour, which kicked off this past weekend, have been canceled and "tickets will be fully refunded at point of purchase."
This comes after a bizarre weekend, in which West canceled a Sunday makeup concert in Los Angeles hours before it was set to begin.
On Saturday night, West began a concert in Sacramento, California, an hour and a half late, only to halt it after two or three songs (reports vary) and a long, stream-of-consciousness rant.
Though he's known for such rants at his shows, they've taken a surprising turn. On Friday, he engaged in another rant at his San Jose, California, show, where he said he would have voted for Donald Trump, which surprised his fan base.
This behavior led some to speculate as to the state of West's mental health, though People's source attributed his hospitalization simply to exhaustion.
"It's nothing like that," the source told PEOPLE.
"He's just exhausted. He's been working around the clock on fashion design, both on his own line and the Adidas line. He's a notorious workaholic, so balancing both that work - which is extremely important to him - and the rigors of the tour every night, it really wore him out."
Kim Kardashian-West, his wife, was scheduled to attend the Angel Ball in New York City Monday night, which would have marked her first public appearance since she was robbed in her hotel room in Paris last month. She did not attend.
Though West is generally an active presence on Twitter, he hasn't sent out a tweet in month.
