'KL Gangster 2', the sequel to the Malaysian box-office hit, 'KL Gangster', is expected to hit the screens, a week after Hari Raya Aidilfitri this year.
Urusan Skop Productions Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Yusof Haslam said today, the final touches to the sequel were currently in progress for the customary screening.
He told Bernama that his son, Syamsul Yusof, who is also the sequel's director, was tied up with the film, and as such, could not attend the Finas-organised discussion on the film, in conjunction with the Seri Temasek Film Festival here yesterday.
He said, in comparison to 'KL Gangster', which cost RM2.5 million and involved 38 days of filming, the sequel cost RM4 million, with filming over a 68-day period.
In conjunction with the film festival, Finas screened 'KL Gangster' which grossed RM12 million in box-office takings, receiving bouquets and praise from the Singapore Malays.
One of the fans, who only wanted to be identified as Sofia, congratulated the Malaysian delegation over the manner the movie was directed and produced.
