Mel Gibson signs on for TV series, starring Kate Hudson and Kurt Russell

Actor/director Mel Gibson has been tapped to co-write and direct a new TV series, starring star Kate Hudson and Kurt Russell.
Gibson will also have a recurring role in the series, which has yet to be set up at a network, and is titled "The Barbary Coast".
Reportedly focused on the San Francisco area during the Gold Rush era of 1849, the project is set up at the Mark Gordon Co., with Entertainment One to handle worldwide distribution.
Bruce Davey, Oliver Hudson, Wyatt Russell and Rick Nicita will exec produce with Gibson, Russell, and Hudson (via Variety).
