There is a reason for local heavy metal fans to celebrate because rock band Metallica will be coming to Kuala Lumpur as part of its Asian tour.
The band confirmed this through its official website and its Twitter page today.
“We've said it before... with more than 30 years of traveling around the world behind us, there are very few places that we have yet to explore.
“So it's rather thrilling for us to be back with yet another first, a stop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on August 21 at Stadium Merdeka,” the band said in a statement.
The band is also set to perform in South Korea, Japan, China and Singapore in the tour.
In February and March, Metallica performed in five cities in Australia before heading to Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa and Abu Dhabi in April.
Metallica’s 3D movie concert titled 'Through the Never' will premiere at all IMAX theatres around the world starting this September.
Members of this heavy metal band are James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo dan Lars Ulrich. They are the fourth biggest selling artist in the United States. They’ve produced nine studio albums which have sold more than 52 million units in the US alone.
They formed their own recording company last year with the name Blackened Recordings and have gotten publishing rights from all of their studio albums.
Tickets for the show go on sale at 11:30 am on July 6 at Fahrenheit 88 Shopping Mall in Jalan Bukit Bintang.
Online ticket sales will begin on Monday, July 8 at 10:00 am www.ticketcharge.com.my and www.galaxy.com.my.
