The fan club insisted David to withdraw the statement, and to make a public apology.
An NGO on Monday expressed their disappointment over a statement made by producer, David Teo, who seemed to have insulted the late legendary artiste Tan Sri P Ramlee.
P Ramlee Fan Club chairman, Tan Sri Mohd Yusoff Latif said the statement is not only hurtful to P Ramlee's family, but to his fans as well.
He said even though P Ramlee wasn't a wealthy man, but he did leave behind a mountain of national treasures through his evergreen movies and songs.
The fan club insisted Teo to withdraw the statement, and to make a public apology.
"P Ramlee has been gone for 44 years, but his movies are still being watched until now.
"I support the decision made by the fan club for David Teo to withdraw the statement and apologise," said Yusoff.
Yusoff, who is also Penang Malay Association (Pemenang) said Teo's statements was inappropriate and unacceptable.
Having the opportunity to know the legendary actor personally, Yusoff said, P Ramlee was a kind and virtuous person, but luck did not seem to be on his side.
Teo, on Thursday, made a statement via an online portal, advising new actors to be savvy, instead of chasing the limelight.
He also compared P Ramlee's glamorous and successful career, and how different when it ended.
Teo's statement was condemned by the late actor's family, fans and fellow artists, claiming it was rude and irrelevant.
