Madonna, 56, was performing ‘Living for Love’, wearing her matador chic outfit, complete with a long cape, which seemed to be the culprit of the hard fall – when seconds into the show, she appeared to be pulled backwards down a flight of stairs by her backing dancers, and fell heavily on her back.
The combo of wardrobe malfunction and the songstress's wrong timing of undoing the cape from her shoulder seemed to have caused the accident.
However, being a true professional, Madonna sprung up, continued on and finished the song to close the show.
BBC News via John Hand who was at the scene reported that there was no gasp of shock from the crowd as Madonna took her backward tumble because they thought that it may have been a particularly well orchestrated dance manoeuvre.
Madonna fell on the lyric "I let down my guard, I fell into your arms" and was back on her feet to sing purposely "now that it's over, I'm going to carry on".
Madonna took it all in graciously and announced she is all right with it all when she posted a sketch of her cape with the caption, "Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I'm fine!"
