'Roh' named best film at 31st Malaysia Film Festival Award

KUALA LUMPUR: The film 'Roh' directed by Emir Ezwan was named the best film at the 31st Malaysia Film Festival (FFM) Awards last night.
The film also won other awards including Best Screenplay (Emir Ezwan), Best Supporting Actress (Junainah M. Lojong) and Best Child Actress (Putri Qaseh).
The award ceremony was attended by Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, Deputy Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin and Secretary-General Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek.
Also present were National Film Development Corporation (FINAS) chairman Zakaria Abdul Hamid, FINAS chief executive officer Prof Dr Md Nasir Ibrahim and OKU Sentral president and Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chairman Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi.
Meanwhile, actor Zul Ariffin won the Best Actor award through the film Sangkar while Best Actress was won by Sinje Lee (The Garden of Evening Mists).
The Karyawan Sepanjang Zaman award went to Fauziah Nawi while Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Nawab received the Behind the Scenes Special Award.
The FFM31 staged at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) was held under the new norm with strict compliance of standard operating procedures (SOP) set.
