Deadline.com has revealed that Rupert Wyatt could replace Nicolas Winding Refn ("Drive") to direct "The Equalizer," starring Denzel Washington.
Sony Pictures has reportedly approached Wyatt ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes") about directing "The Equalizer." The film, which is supposed to launch a franchise, will be inspired by a series about the adventures of Robert McCall, a former secret agent who comes to the aid of the needy.
Denzel Washington will be taking on a role made popular by British actor Edward Woodward in the series that was broadcast between 1985 and 1989 on CBS.
