More than RM200,017 collected in conjunction with the SapuraKencana Charity Gala Night Malaysian Grand Prix 2013 last night.
RM86,000 from the funds will be channeled to the National Heart Institute Foundation, which came from the bidding session while the rest are from the guests’ contribution.
Among the most responsive items during the bidding session is a pair of diamond earrings from Ceres purchased with the highest bid price of RM70, 000.
Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Chief Executice Director, Datuk Razlan Razali said the response to the event surpassed the expectations of the organisers.
"This year is different because this is the anniversary of Formula 1 in Malaysia and I feel this is the best Gala Dinner we ever had,” said Razlan.
Meanwhile, Standard Chartered Malaysia Head of Origination and Client Coverage Wholesale Banking, Saif Malik said as a sponsor the event helped Standard Chartered to strengthen their business ties.
"This is a valuable opportunity for Standard Chartered to support charitable programs like this to strengthen our relationship with the guests present this evening," said Saif.
"SapuraKencana Malaysia Grand Prix 2013" Charity Gala was organised in conjunction with the Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix at the Sepang Circuit this weekend.
The event was also attended by international celebrities such as Teri Hatcher, Josh Harnett, Kimora Lee Simmons and drivers from the Formula One teams.
