The manner Metrowealth Pictures (MiG) chief executive officer, Datuk David Teo spoke in front of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was ‘uncivilised’.
This is the opinion of film director Mohamad Mohamad Khalid, better known as Mamat Khalid, who said, the producer is known for his loud mouth, but he went overboard this time around.
"That is how he talks with anyone in the industry, very vocal.
“So, when he is in a forum with the Prime Minister, I think he does not know how to control his loud intonation.
“Maybe he thought he was talking to the production ‘boy’,” he told Astro AWANI during a phone interview Thursday.
Mamat was commenting about the incident on Wednesday night, during a National Transformation 2050 (TN50) event in front of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at Seri Perdana, where a scuffle broke out between veteran actor Sulaiman Yassin, better known as Mat Over.
Teo was slapped by Mat Over for being ‘rude’ in front of Najib.
The incident happened when Teo tried to ask a question the dialogue session.
Mamat said he knows Mat Over personally, who he dubbed him a well-mannered man from Terengganu.
As such, Mamat did not expect Mat Over to behave crudely.

"It's known not always we have 'open talks' about the industry with the nation’s leader and perhaps, he could not be patient anymore,” he said.
Mamat said the embarrassing incident will not affect industry’s image as he said it is a personal sentiment.
“David is not the representative of the industry until people can point fingers and have a bad perception on the industry.
He added that as the incident has happened, all parties involved have to learn to move forward and be more matured, so that such incidents do not recur.
