Veteran actor Osman Zailani passed away at the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Singapore, yesterday.
His grandson Hady Mirza said Osman, 85, was admitted to the hospital two days before Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
The singer who shared the news on his Facebook, did not reveal the cause of his grandfather’s death.
He will be buried today after the Zohor prayers at a cemetery near his house at Yishun.
The late actor was active in the entertainment industry in Singapore and through drama and films in Malaysia.
Among his well-known characters are in Sesejuk Air Mata Ibu and Suratan Kasih.
In the 1970s, he played the character Ong Lee in a Hollywood television series, Hawaii Five-O.
At the Singapore Pesta Perdana 12 in 2013, he won the Best Actor award for his supporting role in the special drama 'Terbelenggu'.
