The speech about "instant religious teachers" made by a Wanita delegate during the 68th UMNO General Assembly has irked multi-talented actor, singer and TV presenter Adibah Noor.
The personality, known for her bold statements on social media, took to Twitter to address the issue.
“If there’s any charity job, please do not ask us to sell tables,” she wrote on Twitter.
When asked by her fans to share the video, she decided to keep mum citing that 'it was for her own viewing'.
A short snippet of the speech made by the Wanita delegate has been shared numerous times on Facebook inviting voices of dissents among Netizens.
In her speech, the female politician criticises celebrities who are aligned to a certain religious political party, and subsequently becoming instant religious teachers.
“Singers become ustaz, rockers become ustaz, artistes are not called ustaz, and female celebrities who now wears the headscarf and are considered as ustazah and they host religious shows on the television. They may previously be actors, singers and rockers and when they enter PAS, they disrupt the situation,” she said in the 57-second video.
She bluntly criticised attendees, who want elements of humour and singing during religious speeches.
Adibah when contacted by Astro AWANI refused comment.
