Curtis Jackson has accepted a part in "The Predator," it is now thought, making him the first known cast member of Shane Black's 2018 franchise entry.
Jackson, also known as rapper and music producer 50 Cent, has recently appeared in boxing drama "Southpaw," comedy thriller "Spy," and the Arnold Schwarzenegger / Sylvester Stallone prison break movie, "Escape Plan."
In conversation with Sirius XM station Shade 45 (and picked up on by AVP Galaxy), Jackson spoke to his future by saying "You've see me start with the film production, so I'll be doing some new feature films and stuff like that too. Check me out, I'mma do 'Predator.'"
Schwarzenegger, who starred in the original 1987 action film "Predator" as an ultimately victorious commando taking on a deadly alien hunter, is said to have been in communication with new director Black, a cautious Latino Review points out.
Shane Black, who wrote "Lethal Weapon," Schwarzenegger film "Last Action Hero," and "The Last Boy Scout," is making a sustained return to directing after 2003's "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" with Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer, and then 2013's "Iron Man 3," also starring RDJ.
Before "The Predator" comes May 2016 movie "The Nice Guys," a 1970s crime thriller starring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe. Black is also on board to direct his own adaptation of a 1930s pulp fiction classic in "Doc Savage."
50 Cent's sixth studio album, "Street King Immortal," is set for release in August 2016.
