Artiste who assaults wife released on police bail

A singer-cum-actor from Singapore, who was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife at an entertainment outlet in Cheras two days ago, was released on police bail today.

Cheras district police chief ACP Chong Kok Sin said the 26-year-old suspect was released after police completed investigation of the case.

"The case will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor for further action,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

Police detained the artiste at Jalan Peel, Cheras, about 2.30 am yesterday for allegedly assaulting his wife, who went to the entertainment premises with her mother about 4.30pm to look for her husband.

The victim, who was still in confinement, found her husband with another woman in a karaoke room.

The wife then took pictures of her husband and the woman before a quarrel broke out between them.
