Legendary actress Azean Irdawaty died at the University Malaya Medical Centre, Petaling Jaya, Selangor due to liver failure at 7.29pm today, after a five-year battle with cancer.

Azean Irdawaty’s popularity escalated in the silver screen, making her a primadona in the late 70s and early 80s. She is most notable for her roles in ‘Mama oh Mama’ and ‘Waris Jari Hantu’.
The last film she acted in was ‘Talentime’ in 2009 which was directed by the late Yasmin Ahmad.
