Balinale International Film Festival announces results
Described as an "unconventional love story", Polands Chemo nabbed Best International Feature.
Balinale, Bali’s own international film festival, announced its results Thursday.
Teddy Soeriaatmadja won the coveted Best Indonesian Feature for About A Woman. Collaborative piece Indonesia Raja meanwhile received the Best Indonesian Short award.
The biggest winner of the international categories is the US, which took home the #FaceofDiversity Award for Masahiro Sugano‘s Cambodian Son and Best Overall Film for Alfonso Gomez-Rejon‘s Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.
Currently in it’s ninth edition, the festival was first established in 2007.
Balinale is affiliated with the Motion Picture Association, Asia Pacific Screen Awards, ASEAN International Film Festival & Awards (AIFFA), Asian Film Commissions Network and in 2014 is supporting the American Film Showcase and Sundance Institute’s Film Forward.
The festival provides Indonesian filmmakers an avenue to present their work to a global audience.
