Court confirms Eizlan Yusof's divorce
HAPPIER TIMES: Eizlan and Vie Santi have three children together throughout their eight-year marriage.
The Gombak Timur Lower Syariah Court here has confirmed that actor, Datuk Eizlan Yusof, 44, has divorced Vie Santie Harun, 29, with a single talaq.
The court declared the pronouncement of divorce by Eizlan on Sept 28 last year as valid and in accordance with Islamic law, a local Malay daily reported Monday.
The court also recorded the couple’s agreement on several matters, among them being the amount of nafkah edah (livelihood during the waiting period) to be provided by Eizlan to Vie Santie at his discretion, and that the latter would not claim for mutaah (compensation).
Although custody rights for the couple’s children were awarded to Vie Santie, the court gave Eizlan the freedom to spend the night with their kids at any reasonable time agreed by the couple.
Vie Santie had filed the application for the confirmation of divorce pronouncement under Section 57 of the Islamic Family Law (State of Selangor) Enactment 2003.
The couple married on July 7, 2007 and had been blessed with three children, Vie Zaara, Zareef Yusuf and Vue Zaalia, aged between two and six.
