Engku Emran, Laudya Cynthia Bella tie the knot

With only one go or 'sekali lafaz', Engku Emran Engku Zainal Abidin, 42, and Laudya Cynthia Bella, 29 are officially husband and wife as of 6.57pm on Friday.

The prominent couple who have been in the eyes of the Malaysian and Indonesian media for quite a while was married with a mas kahwin of RM300 at a private event at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

The solemnisation ceremony was conducted without much opulence and was attended by family members and close friends.

Engku Emran also gave five trays of 'hantaran' while Bella responded with seven.

The couple was also celebrated in a wedding reception held Friday night.

Engku Emran and Bella hoped that their wedding will quell the speculations that surrounded the duo prior to their much awaited union. Most of the talk came in the form of comments on social media.

"We appreciate the relationship we have with our friends from the media. Please pray that our wedding is blessed by Allah SWT and that our union will stand until the day we die," the couple said at the ceremony.

Bella's celebrity friends from Indonesia also attended the event. Among those present were Melly Goeslow, Titi Kamal, Irwansyah, and Teuku Wisnu.

Also present was Nora Danish and her husband, Nedim Nazri. The latter was the one who introduced Engku Emran to Bella.

Meanwhile, Engku Emran's ex-wife, Erra Fazira in her Instagram account wished the newlyweds a happy married life.

Erra, who has a daughter with Engku Emran - Aleesya - expressed hope that the union would help to strengthen ties between Malaysia and Indonesia.

She also wished for Engku Emran and Bella to be blessed with children so as to give Aleesya siblings.
