Eva Longoria prepares to return to the limelight

Now a producer for the small screen, Eva Longoria seems poised to return to the other side of the camera. The actress is being wooed to star in two separate series, one for NBC and one for ABC, Deadline reports. The former "desperate housewife" clearly doesn't intend to stay at home all day. While she continues to pursue multiple projects as a producer, including "Devious Maids" and a new political series she recently sold to ABC, the star isn't leaving her acting career behind. Two years after the end of "Desperate Housewives," Eva Longoria is being courted to star in two new sitcoms, both developed specifically for her. The first -- titled "Telenovela" and hailing from Universal TV and the producers of "Cougar Town" -- focuses on a telenovela actress willing to do whatever it takes to stay on top. Based on an idea from Longoria, the potential series is developed for NBC. The second, written by "Trophy Wife" creators Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins, is an untitled comedy for ABC. Longoria would play Mia, an interior decorator who can't help sticking her nose into everyone else's business. While awaiting news of her decision on these two projects, fans can look forward to seeing Longoria in season two of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine." The actress will guest star in three episodes as a brilliant attorney.
