Joseph Gordon-Levitt joins cast of 'Sin City 2'

Dimension Films has announced that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will join actors including Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba in "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For."

Thirty-one-year-old Gordon-Levitt will play a gambling ace out for revenge. Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, co-directors of the feature-length film inspired by the second volume of Frank Miller's saga "A Dame to Kill For," explained that Gordon-Levitt's character, Johnny, was specially conceived for the film.

Dimension Films promised that other new additions to the cast will soon be announced. Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King and Mickey Rourke will be reprising their roles from the first installment, shown at the 2005 Cannes Festival. Dennis Haysbert and Jamie Chung will replace Michael Clarke Duncan and Devon Aoki respectively.

Filming has already begun on the movie, which will take audiences back into the dark stylized world of "Sin City." It is set for release in North American cinemas next October .
