Colin Trevorrow, director of imminent dinosaur disaster movie "Jurassic World," will work on the next film in the franchise, though in a different way.
"Jurassic Park should be a franchise like Star Wars," said Trevorrow, who came to the "Jurassic Park" franchise from time-travel comedy "Safety Not Guaranteed."
"Different directors are capable of leaving a different mark on each film," he told Italian site Bad Taste, while clarifying that he would "stay involved in some way, but not as director."
Adapted from and inspired by the Michael Crichton novels, the first two "Jurassic Park" films were directed by Stephen Spielberg, with "Jurassic Park III" going to Joe Johnson, more recently of "Captain America: The First Avenger."
Trevorrow was speaking at the Paris international premiere of "Jurassic World" ahead of global roll-out the week of June 12.
