In Memory: 10 things about Yus Jambu

The entertainment industry lost another gem when actor-comedian Yus Jambu, passed away early Monday morning. He was one of a few comedians who managed to capture the heart of many Malaysians.

Here are 10 things you should know about Yus Jambu also known as 'Pak Yus'.

1. Yus, or his real name Yussry Edo, was born on March 15, 1976 and was originally from Kangar, Perlis.

2. He started acting after participating in the competition, Sinaran Pasport Kegemilangan, organized by a TV station.

3. His big break came when he won Astro's Raja Lawak season 1 in 2007.

4. In 2011, he and Tauke established the band Jambu and participated in Maharaja Lawak Mega. The duo ended up in fourth place.

5. The same duo later won second place for Maharaja Lawak 2012.

6. Yus was recognized as the Best Stage Actor in 2004.

7. He took part in over 20 dramas and 11 movies.

8. Some of his best taglines are 'Boleh tuju lagu', 'kicap ada kicap', 'Yaya Toure Manchester City', 'apa pun tak boleh' and 'kokdiang'.

9. Yus was actively involved with Malaysian Artist Sport Club (MASC).

10. Affectionately known as Pak Yus, he reportedly suffered a heart attack after attending an event in Dataran Merdeka last night. He was taken to Selayang Hospital and passed away around 12.15 am.
