Michael Bay producing WW2 drama
The American director is getting behind a war drama depicting one Allied unit's efforts to hinder the Nazis' development of nuclear bomb capabilities.
Michael Bay, whose inclination towards spectacular action films is well known, will produce "Sabotage" and is even considering directing the film, Thewrap.com reports. The feature will be adapted from a book proposal from journalist Neal Bascomb, entitled "Sabotage: A Genius Scientist, His Band of Young Commandos, and the Mission to Kill Hitler's Super Bomb."
"Sabotage" will allow Bay to return to the theme of World War II over a decade after "Pearl Harbor" (2001), but this time in a very different geographical setting. The feature will depict how the Allies, with help from a scientist fleeing the Nazi regime, venture into a remote region of Norway to invade the industrial complex where Hitler's researchers are working to develop the atomic bomb.
Michael Bay is teaming up once again with Paramount Pictures to produce the project. For the time being, the director is busy with post-production on "Transformers: Age of Extinction," arriving in theaters next summer.
