Noel Gallagher confirms his next album is in the works

The former Oasis member is currently at work on his next album, the singer confirmed Friday.

"I'm already a bit of the way into my next record," he said in an interview with NME. "As for what it will eventually say on the cover though remains to be seen."

Under the name Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, the new album is to be Gallagher's third after "Chasing Yesterday," which came out in February and the 2011 debut record, "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds."

Gallagher's band is to headline London's Calling Festival on July 4.
