In conjunction with their 24th year of rocking the local music scene, hit maker of "60's TV" are now launching their first official biography, chronicling their bittersweet years in the music industry that they joined at the age of 16.
OAG (Old Automatic Garbage) is well-known for turning the music scene upside down, a feat achieved together with their label Positive Tone, successfully bringing the local English tune into the mainstream.
Their success had opened the eyes of the industry players and became a trendsetter for other aspiring local acts.
'The OAG Story', written by M.Zulkifli Abdul Jalil, is part of the #OAGreunion project. The 150-pages book took 5 months to completion, gleaning information, interviewing those that were involved during the early years of OAG.
Apart from the biography, the #OAGreunion Project includes a documentary and a live gig performance by the original band members comprising of Radhi, Qi Razali (Chi), Lam & Ivan.
The biography – aptly titled “The OAG Story: How 60’s TV changed the 90’s”, was launched at MAEPS, Serdang during the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair, with the presence of Ahmad Izham Omar and Paul Moss. The duo was known to be the backbone of OAG during its inception.
The biography is a gift to the OAG fans who had been following them since 1996. Published by Merpati Jingga, the biography will be sold at RM50.00 and will be available in bookstores nationwide starting from June 2016.
For the time being the book is available at KL International Book Fair until 9th May 2016. The book will be distributed by Gerak Budaya and available online at www.merpatijingga.com.
