Malaysian celebrities including actress Lisa Surihani, Miss World Malaysia 2010 Thanuja and Celebrity MasterChef Malaysia, Datuk Fazley Yaakob were all joyfully cheering as dark comedy, ‘Birdman’ soared high after it was named Best Picture at the 87th Annual Academy Awards 2015.
The local celebrities along with a group of local media personnel converged on the Shangri-La, Kuala Lumpur to watch the screening of the Oscars 2015 this morning.

Some of the guests who arrived for the screening of the Oscars at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur today.
Guests arrived as early as 7am, mostly dressed to the nines to catch the creme de la cream of Tinseltown greats to watch the glittering event held 14,128 kilometres in Los Angeles. It was reminiscent of top fashion parade - Malaysian style, to say the least.The screening's hosts -- actress Lisa Surihani and H!Live producer and editor, Syazwan Zakariah gave away goodies and prizes in between the winners announcements.
Astro's Apa Kata Malaysia host, Datuk Aznil Haji Nawawi also made a ‘live’ appearance from Kodak Theatre where he stole the limelight to interview Oscars 2015 Best Actor in a Supporting Role, J.K.Simmons on the red carpet.
HBO Asia, the new home of the Academy Awards, believes that the prestigious award will attract more loyal viewers to watch the channel.
